Cadets Grading

Cadets grading will be held at the QNA Courts on Tuesday 21st February from 5pm to 6pm for all Cadets age players who wish to play competition netball this season.

Any players who only wish to play social netball and not train do not need to turn up for grading.

Welcome to the 2012 netball season!

 The Jerra Joeys Netball Club is part of the Queanbeyan Netball Association and whilst being one of the newer clubs has developed a great reputation as a strong and competitive club.    Last year we fielded 16 Junior teams in the QNA competition, but only three seniors’ teams.  This year we hope to continue to expand our Junior teams and start to increase our senior teams.  

An exciting change this year by Queanbeyan Netball is the introduction of a Senior Division 1 interclub competition with South Canberra Netball.  So if you want to be part of this with the Jerra Joeys come and register.

 Registration of our senior and junior teams with the Queanbeyan Netball Association close in early March with games beginning on 28 April.   With over 150 registrations expected and so we can be organised and make preparations for the coming season we would like to get registrations in as early as possible.  

To help you register we have the following choices.

Saturday 11th February - 2.00-3.00pm

Queanbeyan Netball Association Registration Day

along with the other Queanbeyan clubs we will be present at the QNA Netball Clubhouse and courts at Thornton road Queanbeyan, or

Wednesday 15^th February – 3.15 – 4.30

Jerra Joeys Information Session  

We will be at the Jerrabomberra Primary School Netball Court outside the entrance to the library.  If you are new come and talk to us, have a game with some of our players or just bring your registration forms along, or

To register, please complete, sign and return all completed forms to the Jerra Joeys Netball club - with either your full payment for each participant or an eft receipt - no later than 5pm on Saturday 18^th February 2012.  To make things manageable for use can you please clearly identify your payments for registration and uniform (if applicable) separately.

Uniforms

The closing date for uniform orders will be 18th February 2012.

 Players are able to order uniforms on registration day but must pay 100% of the uniform cost.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Clubs like ours only survive with the kind support of its many volunteers.  There are many roles available, you can take on a position on our committee or just come along and be a general member and get involved in fundraising activities.  You can participate as a coach, team manager or even an umpire.

We would love to have more coaches available.  If you are interested please talk to our coaching coordinator Judy Blair.  Even if you have not coached netball before there are many coaching courses available for you to attend.  The Queanbeyan Netball Association encourages your participation by providing financial assistance to attendees to accredited courses.   If you are under 18 and wish to coach a Jerra Joey’s team we do ask that an adult be present to assist at trainings and games.

Message from the Tigers Club

Could you please pass on The Tigers Clubs very best wishes for a successful outcome in all Grand Finals.

To have so many teams representing Jerra Joeys in their respective grand finals is a wonderful achievement.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) we will be in our own Grand Final at the same time at Manuka Oval and will not be in attendance at your end of season success.

Grand Finals Week

Hi everyone,

Next Saturday (17th September) is grand finals weekend for the netball season.
The Jerra Joeys has had a great season and we have had record numbers of girls participating for the club this year, which is fantastic.

We have also had a few teams make it through to the grand final games.

It would be great to show some real club spirit next Saturday and have lots of supporters there to cheer for their friends and club mates.

Please encourage the girls to come and watch some of the final games, dress up in our club colours, make some banners and pom poms, and make lots of encouraging noise on the day to bring our teams home.

There will be a lot going on at the courts - including food stalls, and fun things to keep everyone entertained.

Game times for the Joeys teams are as follows:

8:30am - Joeys Cadets DIV 2 vs Sunrise Gold (court 1)
10am - Joeys Cadets DIV 1 vs Bungendore (court 1)
10am - Joeys Under 11's Teal vs Sunrise (court 5)
11:30am - Joeys Under 10's Black vs Waratah (court 4)
1:30pm - Joeys Seniors DIV 2 vs Waratah (court 1)

The DIV 1 seniors game is at 3pm - no Joeys teams in this grade (but maybe next year!). Stay around and watch Waratah and Sunrise take on each other in this division.

Hi Joeys!

Dont forget the Cadets and Seniors presentation night is coming up, you need to get tickets before the night if you are coming. To purchase tickers either contact your coach, or if you are coming to support our Joeys playing in the Grand finals, look out for the Jerra Joeys Supporters area (look for our banner) at the netball courts this Saturday 17th September. Club members $15 others $30
