QNA U11 Rep Development Team

The QNA are offering for 2013 an U11 Rep Development Team.

This team will be the ideal lead into Rep Netball at the U12 level in
2014 and we invite all willing participants to apply now.


There will be an opportunity to play at Rep Carnivals next year.

YASS NETBALL HOLIDAY CLINIC

In the Summer School Holidays Netball NSW will be conducting a Holiday Clinic hosted by the Yass Netball Association.  

When:                  Monday, 21 January 2013
Where:                 Yass Netball Association – O’Connor Park, Yass
Time:                     3pm – 6pm
For:                        Children aged 5 – 12 years old
Cost:                      $40
Bring:                    Healthy snacks, drink bottle, sunscreen and a hat

Participants will receive: A Netball NSW goodie bag with a Gilbert netball, Netball NSW drink bottle, certificate of participation and a sticker set!

Committee Positions

PRESIDENT: The President has overall responsibility for the Jerra Joeys Netball club’s administration.
The President sets the overall annual committee agenda (consistent with the views of members), helps the committee prioritise its goals and then keeps the committee on track by working within that overall framework. At the operational level, the major function of the President is to facilitate effective committee meetings.Other duties include,manage the annual general meeting, represent the club as required, act as a facilitator for club activities, and ensure the planning and budgeting for the future is carried out in accordance with the wishes of the members.
VICE PRESIDENT:  Assists the president in the performing of their duties, taking on the president duties when the president cannot attend meetings or functions.
SECRETARY: provides the coordinating link between members, the management committee and outside agencies The Secretary's duties include: Preparing the agenda for club meetings in consultation with the President and Committee, make arrangements including venue, date, times and hospitality for club meetings, send adequate notice of the meetings, collect and collate reports from office bearers, take the minutes of meetings, write up the minutes as soon as possible after the meeting, have responsibility for checking club PO box and email address, read, reply and file correspondence promptly, in consultation with the registrar, maintain register of members’ and sponsors’ names and addresses, maintain files of any policies, respond to general duties as directed by the club committee.
TREASURER: Treasurer is the chief financial management officer for the Jerra Joeys Netball Club. The responsibilities and duties include: Monitoring the club’s budget, keep the club’s books up-to-date, keep a proper record of all payments and monies received, make sure financial reports are available and understood at all committee meetings, show evidence that money received is banked and documentation provided for all money paid out, give Treasurer’s report at regular meetings and when required, produce an annual financial report, send out accounts and pay the bills.
REGISTRAR:  Is responsible for maintaining the membership records of the club.  Their duties include: taking registration, ensuring they are complete, submittIng registrations with the QNA and maintaining the player database on Netball NSW NMAS database system, work closely with the treasurer in receipting and chasing up monies.
COACHING COORDINATOR:
UMPIRING COORDINATOR:
UNIFORM COORDINATOR. Is responsible for maintaining a small stock of uniforms, taking uniform orders and ordering the uniforms with our suppliers.  Out uniforms include, playing unfiorms, tops, caps, socks etc

Just a bit about Macleay College:
 They're based 200 metres from Central Station and offer several sports-themed diplomas in a range of areas. They are particularly well known for their journalism course and have a specific elective in sports journalism, as well as their sports management and sports marketing qualifications. We are working with Macleay to have their students write media releases and articles to help promote our sports.

2013 NSW 19/U Team Nominations

Nominations for the 2013 NSW 19/U Team are now open and will close at 5pm on Friday the 9th of November 2012. Please contact the joeys if you would like a nomination form and information package.

The NSW 19/U Team will compete in National Championships which will be held in Darwin from the 8th – 13th of April 2013.

Can you forward this to all athletes within your association and clubs born in 1994 & 1995?

Trials for the 19/U Team will be held at the Anne Clark Centre on the following dates:

Athletes in the 19/U age group are also eligible to nominate for the NSW 21/U Team and may be selected as per the Netball NSW Selection Policy and Procedures.

NSW 2013 21/U Netball team Nominations

SERAS 15’s Netball Selection Trial

The South East Regional Academy of Sport (SERAS) is calling for nominations from athletes to trial for a position within the SERAS 15’s Netball Program for the 2012 Netball NSW Development Weekend. To be eligible you must be registered with a netball association within the SERAS region and be turning 15 years of age in 2012.
One selection trial will be held on Sunday 15th July from which a squad of 12 girls will be selected. The selection of athletes will be based on ability and not on positions as the focus is on individuals rather than a team. Selected athletes will participate in a training day on Sunday the 5th August as well as attending the 15yrs Development Weekend to be held at the Anne Clarke Centre in Lidcombe on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of September 2012.
Athletes who are successful in being selected in this program will be required to pay for their participation at the 15yrs Development Weekend. The fee for this weekend will be available at a later date but will cover the costs for shorts and shirts to wear at the tournament, accommodation and meals during the weekend.

Trial Date: Sunday 15th July 2012 , Venue: UC Fit Sports and Health, Allawoona St, Bruce ACT
Time: 12.00pm – 4.00pm

Training Date (if selected):  Sunday 5th August 2012, Venue Bermagui Indoor Stadium, Bunga St,
Bermagui NSW   Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm

Second Grading Session - Seniors and Cadets


Due to some late registrations, the selectors would like both cadets and seniors to attend a second grading session to be held on Tuesday 13th March from 5.30 to 6.30 for Cadets and 6.30 to 7.30 for seniors.  We expect all players to attend this session so we can assess everyone's skills fairly and place players into the appropriate grades.  Cadets please be there at 5.15 to warm up.  If you are unable to make the session it is essential you let us know on jerrajoeys@gmail.com

Joeys Stall at the Rotary Fair

Hi all,

The Jerra Joeys will have a stall at the Rotary Autumn Fair this Saturday 3rd March 2012. If there are any juniors or cadets with some time free please drop in at the stall and volunteer to help out selling tickets in the $100 club, and guesses for the lolly jar.

Also if there are any parents or seniors who can spare a bit of time to help man the stall it would be great to hear from you. Either contact us on jerrajoeys@gmail.com or drop into the stall on Saturday.

2012 Netball Registration


NETBALL REGISTRATIONS 2012

Welcome to the 2012 netball season!

 The Jerra Joeys Netball Club is part of the Queanbeyan Netball Association and whilst being one of the newer clubs has developed a great reputation as a strong and competitive club.    Last year we fielded 16 Junior teams in the QNA competition, but only three seniors’ teams.  This year we hope to continue to expand our Junior teams and start to increase our senior teams.  

An exciting change this year by Queanbeyan Netball is the introduction of a Senior Division 1 interclub competition with South Canberra Netball.  So if you want to be part of this with the Jerra Joeys come and register.

 Registration of our senior and junior teams with the Queanbeyan Netball Association close in early March with games beginning on 28 April.   With over 150 registrations expected and so we can be organised and make preparations for the coming season we would like to get registrations in as early as possible.  

To help you register we have the following choices.

Saturday 11th February - 2.00-3.00pm
Queanbeyan Netball Association Registration Day

along with the other Queanbeyan clubs we will be present at the QNA Netball Clubhouse and courts at Thornton road Queanbeyan, or

Wednesday 15th February – 3.15 – 4.30

We will be at the Jerrabomberra Primary School Netball Court outside the entrance to the library.  If you are new come and talk to us, have a game with some of our players or just bring your registration forms along, or

To register, please complete, sign and return all completed forms to the Jerra Joeys Netball club - with either your full payment for each participant or an eft receipt - no later than 5pm on Saturday 18th February 2012.  To make things manageable for use can you please clearly identify your payments for registration and uniform (if applicable) separately.

The closing date for uniform orders will be 18th February 2012.

 Players are able to order uniforms on registration day but must pay 100% of the uniform cost.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Clubs like ours only survive with the kind support of its many volunteers.  There are many roles available, you can take on a position on our committee or just come along and be a general member and get involved in fundraising activities.  You can participate as a coach, team manager or even an umpire.

We would love to have more coaches available.  If you are interested please talk to our coaching coordinator Judy Blair.  Even if you have not coached netball before there are many coaching courses available for you to attend.  The Queanbeyan Netball Association encourages your participation by providing financial assistance to attendees to accredited courses.   If you are under 18 and wish to coach a Jerra Joey’s team we do ask that an adult be present to assist at trainings and games.
