NEWS - 17-05-10

MARCH PAST - what a great day - the weather was beautiful - the cheering was loud - all our junior Joeys marched so well - you all looked FANTASTIC!!! It's on these days that we see how large our club has really grown. Thanks for all making such a great effort - you all looked as proud of your club as I am!!!

LOLLY STALL & HAIR PLAITING - thanks to all the lolly donations, and also to our band of amazing 'Lolly-Bag-Makers' on Wednesday night (over 400 bags were made up in under 1 hour!) - your efforts have been greatly appreciated by all. Also to our hair plaiters on the day, and those that manned the stall and sold lollies on the day - A HUGE THANKS - to you all. We managed to raise just under $900 for the day - great effort all round I say.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - NO JEWELLERY - please please please please make sure girls/ladies take off ALL jewellery for training, as well as for Saturday games. There has been an unfortunate accident at training last week involving a watch and a tooth - EEK!! Coaches, parents and players - please all try to remember this very important rule - NO JEWELLERY. I really can't stress this enough.

NET SET GO - starts THIS WEEK - Saturday 22nd May - 10:00am to 11:00am - at the QNA top courts (5 & 6). Sue Sokic has kindly offered to be the Jerra Joeys contact person for our littlest Joeys - please contact Sue if you have any queries or concerns.
This is a great start to netball - where players learn some basic skills and usually play short games at the end of each session. Don't forget your drink bottles.

JERRA JOEYS HOODIES - we're going to put one last order of Hoodies (jumpers) in for the season - so now's the chance to scoop up one of these major fashion items!

NEWS - 09-05-10

QNA MARCH PAST & GALA DAY- will be held this coming Saturday 15th May.
The March Past is for all junior players and there will be stalls, sausage sizzle and lots more throughout the day.
Players are to assemble at the courts no later than 9:30am - the March will commence at 9:45am.
(we'll keep fingers crossed for a nice day)
Thank you to all those that donated lollies during the week - the committee and helpers will make up lolly bags this Wednesday, and sell them as a fundraiser on Saturday. There will also be hair braiding with ribbons by Elaine and Louise during the day. Make sure you check it all out.
If you still have lollies to donate - you can drop them in on either Monday or Tuesday evening at 38 Stringybark Dve after 5:30pm. The more we have - the more bags we can make up.
QNA Rep players are expected to wear their QNA dresses for the March Past - but still march with the Jerra Joeys Club.
All other players, please wear your full Jerra Joeys uniform - black pleated skirt, Jerra Joeys shirt, (Jerra Joeys dress for cadets) socks, scrunchies and ribbons.

NEWS - 03-05-10

Luckily the weather was beautiful for our first day of the season. I hope that everyone had a great day.

For me personally - I have 3 daughters playing juniors this year, plus I am in a senior team myself. No wins amoung us - but great play all around - and a good time was had by all.
I do hope it was a good start for everyone else also.

EARRINGS & JEWELLERY - I would like to remind all that QNA has a policy of no jewellery, and this includes earrings. Taping of earings will not be allowed. This rule is in place to protect all players.
If you are thinking of getting your ears pierced - please look at doing this in the 'off season' - from October through to March. Sadly QNA won't budge on this issue.
Unfortunately, there may have been some mixed messages from umpires on the weekend as it was the first day back - and many young/new umpires were rostered on for our first day back. (the inconsistancy of messages is definately annoying - and we will advise the junior umpiring convenor of events that took place on Saturday - hoping that it won't happen in the future)

FOR SALE - we are going to set up a page on here where Jerra Joeys can advertise any uniforms for sale that are no longer needed. Please email me with details and I'll add them to the page. (details = garment description, sizing, cost and contact details of seller) If you do wish to place an ad - please also remember to let me know when I can take the ad down once the item is sold.

MARCH PAST - QNA March Past is being held on Saturday 15th May. All Joeys are asked to attend - and wear full uniform with matching scrunchies/or ribbons. This is a Queanbeyan tradition - and it's great to see all the girls marching proudly for their club. Jerra Joeys won this event last year - can we make it two in a row????
We will also be fund raising on this day - selling Lolly Bags and there will be Hair Braiding (similar to the Jerra Fair). Could all players please donate one packet of lollies to their coach for the lolly bags - the committee will bag them up next week. We require all lollies by THIS Saturday at the latest. Funds raised will go towards buying new equipment (such a new balls etc) for all our teams.
Note for those that are in QNA Rep teams - you are required to wear your QNA Rep Dress at March Past - but still march with your club - The Jerra Joeys.
